I am considering working for Prime and I wanted to know if Prime administered hair follicle or urine drug screens for new hires? I know that many companies are going toward hair follicle and I wanted to know if Prime was one of them. Thanks for the help!

If you're asking this question, then you don't even need to consider applying at Prime.

I'm asking because one night about six months ago, I was at a party and made a mistake. I haven't even been near those people since. I heard that it stays in your hair for up to a year and I'd hate to come to orientation and that shows up if they administer the hair follicle test.

It wasn't a mistake, it was a conscious decision that you made. You will face difficult situations out on the road - more difficult than simply saying 'no thanks' when someone passes you the pipe. How you choose to deal with them can either have a good or bad outcome for the company. Prime (and most other companies) want drivers with the maturity to make the correct decisions when faced with difficult situations.

I understand that, after that night I considered what I had done and decided not to associate with those people anymore and to stay away from drugs and alcohol. I haven't even drank an alcoholic beverage since that night. I made a decision that if I wanted to be their friend, I would be a bum for the rest of my life. I said, "NO," I want a career, so I decided to put my mind to it. I have worked hard in truck driver training school and I have decided that if this is what I want, I will work hard and not screw it up. And that's exactly what I am doing. I know hard work pays off.

You've opened a big ole can of worms by asking this, but hang in. If your post about not smoking anymore is true, ignore all the moral majority that are going to chime in on this and destroy you.(Many of whom did exactly what you did back in the day, myself included) lol. ;-) That said, there is no place for any drugs when you have 80,000 lbs at your fingertips, and many lives in the balance. As for Prime's method of testing, I dont know? As long as it was a few months ago since you smoked, and it wasn't an everyday habit, I wouldn't worry about it. It should've worked through your system by now. Regardless, good luck, and stay safe and "clean" for every bodies sakes!

I appreciate it. Honestly, that was the first and last time I smoked. It was my 21st birthday and I made a bad chose, I hated how it felt to be high and said I will never touch that again. I said that my career is more important than anything else, so I decided to stop being a child and grow up to be a man.
