Hopefully some others will respond, but I have no personal knowledge to offer. I can state that their safety stats look good, so that's a place to start....

ISS-2 stands currently at 42. That's pretty good.

Is that the other outfit that is related to C.R England? Maybe this is the ‘good’ England?

I used to live in SLC, and Pride was a frequent advertiser in the help-wanted ads in both big newspapers there. I never applied with them because of this reason in my 8 years in Salt Lake. If you are considering these guys, I'd watch the Salt Lake Tribune for about a week and count the number of times you see their help-wanted ad. For me, I scratch a company off my list if it needs an ad in the papers more than once every two weeks. Not seeing one army of pissed-off quitters cleaning their trucks out as another army of new hires goes into orientation is a reasonable demand.

Pride is a smaller outfit, and yes, the "owner" is related to the family that owns C.R. England. All these guys are mormon (read "tightwads"), but the guy who started Pride did so because he wanted to haul "sinful" loads such as beer. If he hadn't wanted to do this, Pride wouldn't exist. This guy'd be working inside at C.R. England's outfit as a falutin higher-up along with all the other England boys who have ended up high on the company's ladder just because their last name is England.

Pride is just like any company when it comes time to consider them. Don't just decide on a whim to go their orientation. Use your head and look for signs of what kind of company they are, good or bad. Those help-wanted ads are a great place to start. Doing a drive by of their terminal (it's behind C.R. England's terminal off of Pioneer Road, Route 201) and counting the cleaned-out rigs is a good idea too. Do that on a Monday morning early and you'll get to see just how big the latest new-hire "army" is as well.

Crete has a terminal in North Salt Lake. I'd work for them WAY before I'd work for a mormon outfit. Mormons are too tightwad to expect any good things from them. You'll see what I mean when you do your drive-by and count all the cleaned-outs.

Again, use your head. Good luck.

Good luck at this outfit. I hope Pride works out. I know I said mormons are "tightwad" and have implied anyone linked to England is "bad news", but go in with a good attitude. You never know. The Englands who own Pride may be completely different. I guess you'll pretty much find out Monday what they're like. These guys may be the best company in Salt Lake City. Again, I never applied there. Pride's help-wanted ads never disappeared from the newspapers long enough for me to take the chance on them.

Look for these signals in the next few days coming up and next Monday morning:
--help-wanted ads in papers day after day after day
--a lot full of cleaned-out trucks
(cleaned out by the pissed-off drivers who used to drive them)
--an army of new hires going into orientation next Monday morning

Pride is a "small" company, if you want to call a company that has 200-300 trucks small. Whatever the number of trucks they do have, weigh that against the number of guys going to orientation next week. How high the number of new hires can be before the company becomes unacceptable is up to you. The number of new hires at Pride shouldn't be more than about 8 if they're good. If the number is more than 12-15, I'd think really hard about going in. If it's more than 20, I'd definitely bolt.

Please show me where the Mormon church owns CR England. I've been a Mormon most of my life and I have never heard of the church owning CR England. Please save your bigitory for some other site.

Pardon me, but I never said the mormon church owned C.R. England. Perhaps you should read my post again. The England family, a group of folks who just happen to be mormon, owns England. This is what I meant when I stated (truthfully), that C.R. England is a "mormon outfit". It's a mormon-run outfit.

As far as "saving my bigotry for another site goes", perhaps I should go over to The Ex-Mormon Forums -, a site where those who've escaped mormonism meet regularly and tell all who will listen exactly why they escaped and have to label their exodus an "escape". With the mormons, it's all about money. It's hard for outside observers to tell which idea the mormons love to worship more--God or the greenback. I lived in SLC for 8 years and know the truth--God takes a far backseat to money when it comes to the "LDS Corporation".

There are #### good reasons that army of protesters comes to SLC every quarter, bud.
