I have read all of the articles about the proper way to polish aluminum, plus all of what I need for tools/ materials to get a mirror shine on fuel tanks and wheels. What I would like to know, is there something that can be applied to keep salt from oxidizing everything back to a dull gray? Wisconsin winters are are not kind to aluminum!

My son had a powder coating set up for a while, he clear coated a lot of headache racks, and it worked well, I wish I had gotten him to do mine. He did a lot of tanks, but usually in a color to match the truck.

I had him coat my wheels, but it would take a pretty big oven to get a truck wheel in.

I have been intending to try out the home powder coating on my cast bullets, just haven't got around to it.
On my truck, since my tanks are black and my wheels are to, I am thinking anout putting the black bedliner on my headache rack to get rid of that aluminum too.A5¢ Thanks this. -
Plenty of wax type products to choose from. Just google search aluminum wax. May have to apply two or three times a year.

Hot soapy water scrubbing with a mitt or brush, not just pressure wash is really the best you can do in between polishing. Keep the grim build up to a minimum and do your best not to scratch them with dirty rags.

Clear lacquer, put some grease or tape on the tire.Rustoleum in a 4$spray bomb. Do it on a small section first to make sure you like it, it's hard to remove.
