When a company expects me to waste my time reading all their self-inflated blather before getting to the job description, I know they'll also put me last every time.

Praxair tanker division delivers to our business, and I make it a habit to chat with them for a minute. Overall, they seem pretty content with their jobs, but it is a BIG company, with everything that comes along with that. The money is real, however.

For the most part they want everything done by the book..their book, and it's a large book where micromanagement is the rule.
But if your done w OTR, messed up pay, crap equipment or not knowing what's next, if you can treat it like a job and just go in and do it safely each day then maybe they're worth a look.
I've been there 8 yrs and struggle w the technology but the paycheck and benefits keep me in check. Besides I've grown accustomed to being home each night.
Annual pay is between 85K and 110K depending how hard you want to work, I volunteered on Memorial day, worked a full shift and grossed $1000.00
They are in the midst of a merge w Linde currently which should be final by year end.
Don't know what this means for us employees going forward but if I was thinking of getting on w them I would want to be onboard before that.

I've pulled some of their trailers before. One time I was in Vernon BC picking up one of the ancient trailers. Brakes were seized to the drums and it was in the middle of the summer. My dispatch told me that Prax wanted me to cage the brakes and pull it down to the coast. No ##### way, not that rolling bomb. Called it out of service on the spot. Ended up in a local shop and they had to torch all the brakes right off the puppy, and weld it and replace everything. Word of warning, don't believe what companies say about safety.

Not disputing your experience at all, but the trailers that deliver to our place are shiney, new-ish, and in tip top shape. Nothing negative to mention, other than wide singles.....

Same with the tractors. New day cabs. With cameras. Like I said before, big company, big company rules, big company pay.

    I can believe it.
We have trlrs that are 40 yrs old but we have a dedicated shop and most days 15 to 20% are out of service.
A new trlr here is 10 yrs old.
I'd bet that was a trlr that hadn't seen a shop in a while, maybe field service, and was right to not move it, but rolling bomb...lol
