Ok, so I have decided on an aims 3k continuous pure wave. They question is those of you using a pure, how are you running more the two items. Are you using a power strip? I've noticed that all the modified have multiple 110 plugs but the pure have only two

Multiple plugs are just a gimmick. I use a modified sine wave but almost everything goes through a surge protector simply because I need the extension cord. Unless you want all your stuff sitting on the ground next to your inverter, you'll do the same.

I bought a 10 awg contractor extension cord from the big box DIY store, it has a 3 way at the end that I plugged a couple 6-way surge protectors in to for all my stuff. I've run everyting under the sun off of it without issue

18 plugs? Just what are you powering in that truck?

    Tb0n3 Thanks this.

I have them going in different directions but I have Tv, blueray, sound bar, microwave, laptop, printer, crockpot/pressure cooker, coffee pot, a small desk fan keeping my upstairs cooler, a battery charger for my cordless impact drill and a plug in fast charger for my phone. Not all of the appliances run at the same time, but I keep a 6 way available for fast access for whichever I use (microwave, tv, blueray, sound bar, cordless drill charger, phone charger and printer stay plugged in all the time)

I guess it adds up. I use a tablet/laptop instead of a TV. None of my stuff stays plugged in. Everything, including the extension cord/surge protector gets put away to avoid clutter and stuff falling over on rough roads. 60 inch sleepers get cluttered in a hurry if you try to keep that stuff out.

I have never touched anything other than one of those two plugs at a time with our inverter. It was a monster in it's day. It did a good job but we used it very carefully. We were more than happy to have it.

There was a 300 watt dual fan metal fin cooled inverter up front to the Cig lighter for laptop, cell phone etc.

Is there a plug in inverter that will go 400 watts? Can you pull that through a lighter?

I'd say you'd probably be limited to around the 180 watt mark for cigarette lighter inverters.

    Tb0n3 and djoh615893 Thank this.
