Yesterday my company-installed inverter started beeping while driving. Upon stopping and inspecting it, the overload warning light was on and the source of the beeping.
I was only running one small device on it at the time (small AA battery charger) that I normally use.
I disconnected everything from the inverter, turned it off and back on. The inverter powers up for about 2 seconds before throwing the overload warning and turning off again. How could it be overloaded when nothing is drawing power on it?
Is it shot? Hoping I can fix it because I’d rather not have to go without power for 2 weeks before I can get back to the company shop.
Thanks.

Does it show voltage ? I’ve had the same issue before and volts were low . I cleaned connection at battery problem was solved in my case.

No voltage meter unfortunately. -
I just went through same situation driving a company truck. 2017 Freightliner Cascadia, about 300K miles on it. The manufacturer installed FreedomLine inverter crapped out with identical symptoms. Fault code indicated low voltage as problem, but after checking voltage (normal) and cleaning all connections, shop tested and said it was done. Installed a cheap box store inverter, and everything works perfect.
Harry Flashman Thanks this. -
