After long time trying to move to Colorado looks like I might have the chance in the near future. Preferably Colorado Springs, unless other suggest other areas. Have had class A restricted license for 4.5 years but just passed for the full a so I guess I’d be considered a new tt driver. Looking to make a lot of hours but would like to be home and have a life. Open to dump truck if the money is there, have equipment operating experience. 4.5 years also there. Is local a good way to make decent wages? Decent overtime? Looking to get the tanker and hazmat but haven’t yet. Any suggestions? Thanks again. Always have amazing suggestions and information on this forum

Believe it or not I have spent some time in and around Pueblo. Some good eating there. Same with Kit Carson. It's not much in that part of the USA but I think that is what makes what is more appreciated. Freight? HA. Denver is it.
I don't like how its turning to california light with the elected people who emigrated from Cali and ended up in Denver to turn over the government to their will west coast style. It is what it is. Pot holds no attraction to me though, it's not my flavor. Ive had it twice long ago and it's not welcome. I prefer other things. I am not a tree hugger, however I believe that God has made all the things in the earth that he thought would be good for us to use. If it was horrible he would not have allowed it to grow or exist.NavigatorWife and GasGuy93 Thank this. -
If you get land in Colorado you can start a farm for weeds.

Local work is all in Denver. Springs is tough to get a good local job. A lot of local springs is ran out of Denver. It’s like a small town drivers don’t let go of their jobs. I could be wrong but that’s the impression I get. A lot of people have to commute to Denver for local work. Then when a spot opens up they get a spot in the springs.

Yeah some great information. I was looking for cheaper places outside of town . Maybe the commuting into town would be a good way. When I was there I always heard of crime in Pueblo. But if I lived outside of town in the middle of nowhere that would be nice also. Finding a rental home for two dogs will also be a fun exploration lol. Like the ideas you guys suggested. Thank you

Don't let the weed scare you away, Colorado is a great state. Sure beats Wisconsin, or any northern state, for that matter, with a stick. The weed business is pretty subdued, I don't see people stumbling around crashing into things, and it brought in $288 million dollars in taxes last year. We have a new hospital,( with helipad) , paved streets, and additions to our schools. The down side, like fast1buzz sez, nobody can pee in a bottle. Our local paper has DOZENS of well paying jobs. People don't come here to work. I'm retired, but turned down a local job, with a company I heard may not be the best, but as an example, one load of mail to Denver a night, 8 hours, $30/hour, new Macks with automatics, and they can't find anyone to fill it. Not sure where you are coming from, but Colorado is one of the biggest states for jobs. And the weed biz? Get used to it, these states are all jumping on the bandwagon. That kind of revenue is just too hard to pass up.
