i dont dislike where i work, the people, the equipment, really crocker is a good place....... however the nature of their buisness is very weather dependent. i worked 2 days this last week and 1 day the week before. eventually it will dry up and be gangbusters for a little while, but as of right now still not much. eventually i will work constantly then fall comes and completely out of a job. if we have a rainy summer then its not going to be much good at all. so i have to admit to doing some browsing. i applied for a home daily job with only 3 months experience required. less then 10 minutes later a recruiter calls me, the job is with JB hunt, its a dedicated hauling appliances, its aprox $1,000 per week, it is home daily no OTR. i have to find out when i can schedule an in person interview. my guess would it be hauling appliances out of some DC to home depot, lowes, walmart, who knows? what's the thoughts on JB hunt. its home daily so that fits the bill of what my family life requires. its also off weekends.
possibility of going to JB hunt dedicated home daily should i?

Might be home deliveries
BigTennOTR and VIDEODROME Thank this. -
they said dedicated, i dont know if that includes home deliveries?

Caution. They claim to have such an opening at said location ... go through the application process, get through the orientation process, get hired, then guess what? The opening fell through, or was just filled, or perhaps never existed in the first place. Then, there's no telling what fleet you'll be stuck with or for how long.
sevenmph, slim shady, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this. -
thank you for the warning. moving foward how do i make sure they arent lying to me and trying to deceive me? i told them i am only interested in home everyday type of work and i am uninterested in driving over the road as i already have a local job that just isnt steady enough. i will certianlly take a job with them, year round work as long as i go home when the day is over. also why would it suit their interests to flat out lie anyways, how many people would just quit on the spot if they pulled a stunt like that?

Many years ago I fell for that crap from JBH. Went to orientation in Dallas. On the 3rd day, I talked to the recruiter and he said that the dedicated thing fell through so he'd have to put me otr for a while. I walked out and never looked back.
mpm, VIDEODROME and sevenmph Thank this. -
