So the issue I keep having is that I work in North Dakota and it appears that all truck ac systems cease to function once they cross the state border. So I keep getting swapped into trucks that have no ac at all. Now it's 90 degrees and 90% humidity and it's taking all of my energy away.
So I wanted to get a portable (roll around style) ac system in order to just plug into the inverters that each of the trucks I swap into seem to have.
I know that I could just try to convince the owners to fix the truck ac, but believe I have tried and they just don't care. So is it possible to have this ac running In the truck so long as I keep the truck in the whole time?

Will an an ac work under these conditions, and will the inverter be ok?

Any other problems you guys can see.

Can the truck power it? Etc.

I saw I guy putting one in his truck once .... Think the key is peak Amps drawn , should be shown on the specs on box .... I wouldn't use it long with truck shut off though ...prob a battery killer

No ID never have it on with the truck off. The truck is swapped between two guys every twelve hours so it always stays running.

Just ts the boxes are really short on information and I so I'm wondering if anyone has done it or seen it done.

Go to Wallmart or any other place and look at the units.
I would try to buy one that's 1000 watts max to save your inverter.

If you're talking about those evaporative coolers, Consumer Reports tested them and basically they don't cool like they claim. A small window a/c with a real compressor will work.

The inverter will add heat if it's inside the truck, therefore working against your goal.

Cool. Yeah I just found one on amazon for 299 and it's only 840 watts, and 8 amps and it specifically made for low start up amps and watts, so it doesn't have the problem of high startup amps like a lot of them do.
But i will keep it posted here so everyone will know how it works out.

I tried this with a ( GO POWER) inverter. Mine is 1000 watts and it wont run my ac unit at all. It just beeps when you plug it in. Let us know if you get this to work.
