Hello all. That port of entry in Laramie, WY, Are trucks required to enter it heading east on I-80? There is just a sign that says Port of entry - exit 313, but no sign saying its open or closed. Also, what if you have to take US-287 south from I-80, do you have to enter that port of entry? Thanks, this is a new place for me

If it's obvious there's a scale, stop. If you're scratching your head, don't. Been my. Rule for 2 years and 44 states and I've never had an issue.
TequilaSunrise Thanks this. -
First do you have PrePass ???? And yes you will have to stop. If you have PrePass and get a Green your good As long as your not hauling Haz or OS/OD. Laramie weighs both NB/SB 287 Trucks

I always stop when they're open. occasionally it's a yellow light with a park and bring in papers. I dont recall a prepass being at that one. ive never got green or a red there.

Most people have no idea what you're talking about. But you're talking about i80 east bound there is a exit for 287. You only have to stop if you're taking 287 if you're on i80 then you don't. That sign is misleading especially for people going through first time
witch_hazel, pattyj, diesel drinker and 6 others Thank this. -
I don't stop unless im on the 287.
rabbiporkchop and S M D Thank this. -

You don't need to stop going south on 287, they only want north bound to stop there.
Quite often they have the yellow light on and want to see your paperwork.Steel Tiger Thanks this. -
never get anything on the prepass at the weigh station in casper wy either, I always pull in, get the feeling it's not necessary there but do it anyway
