Our company just got prepass and my question is: If I get a green light on the prepass I dont have to go in at the port of entries? Just like at weigh stations? I thought they need to know what you are hauling, if I dont go in they wont know what Im hauling

Port of entry is to check your manifests and paper work.
Just passing by Thanks this. -
I always enter POEs. And always follow the directions of the scale on those digital signs over my prepass. Don't want to be chased down the hwy by blue lights.
-
They know who you are by the prepass. POEs like WY don't really care what you're hauling unless you need a permit. Sometimes they ask what you're hauling and sometimes the don't. Sometimes they just want to weigh non prepass and tell them to continue on unless a permit is needed. They're no longer even open 24 hours.
Prostar_Central Thanks this. -
Port of entry=weigh station

If a POE uses PrePass you should do what the light says to do. If it is green you bypass it.
If it is red or nothing at all, you go in. -
I got a prepass signal to go just today while entering Utah port of entry. Keep driving.
-
Green light, I keep going also. If they really want to know what you're hauling, they'll be like California and make everyone stop by blocking the road like a toll bridge.
Few months ago in Wyoming, saw a guy with a boat bypass the PoE even though the sign says all watercraft must stop and the lighted sign said open. No one went after him. They we're speeding and looked like dbags lol -
The people in the poe who have the authority don't work for the same branch of government. So they don't care.
