Instead of having a CD Player installed in my truck, I have Sirius XM radio. It has a port for a 3.5 mm jack, and a port for a USB-A plug. I want to play my own playlist of music through the stereo system via the Sirius XM radio.

I bobtailed to a Walmart today to buy an MP3 player, and I found out that Walmart does not carry MP3 players any more. The sales associate at Walmart said that MP3 players are obsolete. I asked the sales associate what do people use instead of MP3 players. The Sales Associate said that people use their cell phones.

I have a smart phone, but I am not all that tech savvy. I'm not one of these people whose life revolves around my cell phone. Is there any way I can set up my cell phone to play my own playlists of music through my Sirius XM radio. I do have a wire that has 3.5 mm plugs on both ends. What app would I need on my cellphone to do this?

Should be a default music app on the phone already. Just transfer a bunch of music files onto the phone storage.

Streaming apps like spotify, pandora or amazon just make it easier and give you access to far more music.

If you already pay for Prime Amazon Music is cheap and easy enough to use.

You can create and save music into a playlist on YouTube as well, then play it through the phone via Bluetooth or audio jack into your stereo.

Put all your music on a flash drive , plug it in and enjoy.

I use pandora and play through the truck stereo via Bluetooth. I tried Sirius, etc, and was never really happy with any of them.
Pandora is free or like 5 bucks a month for commercial free, so totally worth it.

I use Spotify for music. It’s only $9.99 a month.

Ok, first question you need to answer:

Does your XM radio have Bluetooth?

In other words, do you connect your phone to the radio and listen to your phone calls through the radio?
