    Hello ,
I have a quick question in regards to how plate programs work. When i buy a truck is registration not the same as plates? I see many companies offering plate programs and am curious how they work. Any insight would be great.
    Thanks

Truck is titled to you at your home address, apportioned plates can be bought by a carrier for your truck from a different state.

My truck and trailer is titled in OK, truck has IL plate and trailer has OK plate.

If you're a true O/O you can register your truck in your home state then lease on to a company, however, some states are less expensive to register in. So the co. you lease onto will know the least expensive states which are In./Ok. possibly Il. That means you can come on board, get your plates thru the co. you're leasing onto, pay them usually thru a payroll deduct, which eases the pain of coming up with 2 grand instantly, right ? Then, if you bail, you can "sell" the plate back to the truck co. but if you do, you will need to register your truck somewhere, like right now.

ehh in nj is just under 1300 dollars per truck with all the states I read somewhere that you must register your truck in all the states not too sure how accurate is that but I could be wrong, I personally just rather pay out of pocket.
