Replacing one on my Freightliner Classic. Any specific torque? Or just as tight as possible.

    Which gear? TRW?

3/4 fine thread pinch bolt -350-400 ft lbs
New extra deep lock nut is a good idea.

Rideandrepair and Diesel Dave Thank this.

Ok, I meant to say drag link. Just replaced TRW steering gear, had to take pitman off again to beat the drag link out. Back together now. 3rd time used on pinch bolt. It’s in good shape. Put some blue locktite on it. 350 seems like a lot. I trust your advice. How about drag link, any special torque ? installing it now.

I just snugged them up pretty tight. Felt right. I’ll take the torque wrench and check where I’m at. Thanks.

They’re at least 140. Got the cotters lined up. It felt right tightening them up. Might be higher than 140, can’t be much though.
