I pulled into the 'Pilot' in Sioux Falls this morning to find out it is now a Loves! It seems as part of pilot buying Flying J they had to give up a number of locations and Loves bought them. I hope the coffee is still good.

Quite a diverse list, butthen again like in Haubstadt and Ft Pierce they have the monopoly, there are two pilots at each location and the one in Haubatadt has two pilots and a J

Yea, a few of those surprise me, and a few I was expecting are not on the list. I am glad Loves got them though. I have always liked Loves more than Pilot.
I like the chicken tenders and cookies at the J's though.

I wonder why TA and Petro were left out of the loop.

I would think it has to do with the fact that TA bought out Petro a few
years ago and they have quite a large share of the market like the
    Pilot/J merger will give them.

Loves is the only major TS who is "alone" so to speak and it will give
them a fair chance to be competitive with the larger chain groups.

The courts are the ones who made them sell some of the locations
so that they would not have to large of a market share and be able
to affect fuel prices of the on highway truck market.

That could be seen in other parts of the country as well, a result of Pilot taking over Speedway, then Williams later on.

In North Little Rock, AR, a new Speedway was actually under construction at the time of the takeover(across from the Blue Beacon) and constuction was halted, leaving a metal skeleton.
I haven't been out there lately. I'm curious to whatever happened with that lot.

The Petro is across from the Beacon. There's also a Cummins shop there. There's a Pilot next to the Beacon.
