jager if the choice is a burger joint or a T/S restraunt I'll take the T/S restraunt. The reason being there are more choices foodwise. Also you can get food poisioning from BK or jack in the box as well. Also if a driver doesn't have a cooler in the truck his/her choices are quite limited.

    HFC Thanks this.

well the flying/3.14lot and denny's wont be a big hit. you can use your fuel points at the iron skillet and the t/a restaurants and save your folding money later on. maybe the cheap b*!&#$^ who owns the flying/peelot will see he's looing money by not giving us a break by using our payback points.

I ate at the dennys in the flying hook just over the IL line in Wisconsin on I90.I normally don't eat in full service resturants. The food was good, service was good, and the price was under $10.My only problem is they took out the quick grab food by the fuel desk(Love those breaded chicken wings)Guess Dennys doesn't want ant competion.:biggrin_25525:

I might be in the minority but i think that any OTR driver that has a sleeper cab truck that doesnt have some sort of a cooler or plug in unit with a stash of cooler type food as well as dry goods like peanut butter and bread and beanie weenies or whatever it is that you like is just crazy and also loves to spend money and complain about being broke.. I have always stashed stuff like that even if i didnt plan it out on my menu just for emergency cases at the bear minimum. Drivers have choices and can make their own. One should always be prepared when out on the road. To me carrying food and water is as basic as carrying extra clothes and blankets in case i break down in cold weather. Maybe thats just me. There are almost always choices in all but the most extreme circumstances.

my complaint about the take over from Dennys.
Is that they have gone into the resturants, did a remodle, and covered up the very few electrical outlets, that used to be at select locations.
Why couldn't they have left the former ones in place. Perhaps added a few more.

Had the chicken and beef skillet, looked like a childs plate, maybe a half of a cup of hashbrowns. It was nearly 10 bucks and I had water to drink. I will also avoid them so by doing so, I will not fuel at a J very often either. I think Dennys was a huge mistake. Their corporate offices is in my hometown and their reputation is very poor.

IHOP or Huddle House would have been way better IMO, color me another Denny's avoider.

Looking for healthier food I find Denny's a little better than most. I like the new salads. I am however battling sugar & cholesterol.

jager I don't like to spend 24/7 in the truck. I'm not broke eitheir. I spend maybe $40 a day on meals, smokes, and drinks. I eat two meals a day and some snacks while driving so I don't have to stop for lunch. I have a cooler that keeps my soda and snacks cold. Also I don't have an APU where I can cook. If I had an APU I would cook sometimes to keep the cost down.
