Good morning. Im replacing my pigtail this morning but am not sure if I should get the 12’ or the 15’ pigtail. The one I have now is coiled and I want the regular uncoiled one. I only ever pull a dry van and fifth wheel is centered over the drive wheels. Im thinking to go with the 12’ but dont want to stretch it to much. Thanks in advance.

My deck plate to trailer nose hook ups are 12’ and the air box is probably 5’ from the nose of the trailer

my Cali connects are 15’ out the back though

Get the 15 ft. Pigtail can destroy outlet if it stretches to far

If it were me, I’d buy the really nice, 15’ hose/pigtail set that already has the coiled plastic protector over it ($110 on AZN).

While you’re at it, buy two of these Tectran hanger springs ($38/ea). These have the quick clamp, so you can adjust where they’re attached to on your hose set, without needing tools. And, you need two, so you can properly keep your hose set from touching any part of the frame or catwalk (DOT violation).

For a couple hundred bucks, you can have a really nice, trouble-free setup.

Get the 15. You can always add an extra spring / tensioner on the back of the cab.

My last two truck have had 2 springs. If you think it's too long or hangs too low, just put a loop or dip in between the the 2 springs.

You might think you'll never get in a position where they'll be really stretched out.......I guarantee you will at some point(s).

I went with the 12’. And the double spring hanger. It only cost a small fortune and it does not have a lot of extra on a jackknife turn to the right but it seems like it’ll work. For a while at least. I guess I can try and make most of my turns to the left. :biggrin_25524:
