i've heard drivers say it's faster to go through kingman, but gps seems to add roughly 200 miles.
one of our drivers say he does it in 11 hours through kingman, but 14 through page. his truck is governed at 68 so i find it hard to beleive that he can do through kingman in 11 hours
any of you out there have taken both ways.
which way is faster?????
i'm all for shorter timeframe, but i also pay for the fuel. and i'm just not seeing how kingman can be faster then through page.

He must be using US93 thru Wickenburg,it would only be about 40 miles more that way.

I have driven from cedar city ut to phoenix, its about 7 hours to take 15 to vegas, then 93to kingman to phoenix. Or its a little short to go 15 to Hwy 89 to flagsstaff then 17 to phoenix. That way has a few steep climbs and is pretty treachorous for trucks. the first way to me is the easiest and fastest.

Page is the fastest route. Used to go to SLC area from Phoenix all the time with swift.

yeah, this last trip i basically flew into phoenix. but what goes down. must go up. and that part really gets on my nerves.
all that danged shifting and speed changes trying to climb the hills into utah. LOL.
course, it didn't exactly help much with the turbo about on it's last leg. but it's pulled off and ready to be rebuilt. -
true that, going down is much faster, did it in 11(ish) hours with that 62mph governed truck once.

I've never made it all the way to Phoenix in a 65 mph truck, but usually came up 30 minutes short of Phoenix or so taking 89. You can easily make Flagstaff. Heading north with a heavy load could be pretty slow but I've always had empty totes going north. Personally, I'd take 89 just because it's a beautiful drive. I love that road.

we haul rebar to tucson. from the plant. i'll park in flagstaff. and again in flagstaff on the way back. i like that silver saddle cafe on 89. or that truckstop off the 40.
had a load of very light hay once. 2000 pounds. man that was a sweet ride back to salt lake. -
usualy 89 to 17 best way bout 10 or 11 hrs depending on your speed and load. only climb is on 17.
