So I'm in my 3rd week of phase 1 training and I'm really frustrated and feel like a slave. I've driven on average 8 to 10 hours a day EVERY DAY and I get a freakin $350 paycheck for 1 week.

There's absolutely no way I'm going to continue to phase 2 for another 3 weeks looking at pay checks like that.

Here's my question....will cr england block me from getting my hard copy cdl? I haven't gotten it yet.

This is ########....this is freakin slavery.

Why don't you have the hard copy yet? The CDL belongs to you, not CR England.

It's a shame that you just joined TTR this month.....looking at the threads for CRE might have saved some pain. I do feel for you.

You know... I paid for my own CDL school.. $5000 cash.. plus the 8 weeks of not earning a pay check other then the part time bartending gig I took on while going to CDL school and add the cost of gas going back and forth to school, money for the endorsements and background checks.. all in all CDL school cost me about $12,000 in out of pocket expense and lost wages.. which comes out to about $250 a week for a year...

Since you didnt have to pay for your school you already came out $250 a week for your first year over me wbo paid for my own schooling...

I dont think CR England is a great company.. but, you did choose to have someone else pay for or provide you with schooling and training...

If you quit CR England you will have to pay for the schooling... and they will come after you..

Just suck it up and get through it...

As a new driver and in training its standard for all companies to pay you salary which I agree it is slave wages and should be against the law. You're not going to find much better pay during training. So if you was to quit and go somewhere else, you would have to go thru training all over and continue to make slave pay while in training.Once you receive solo seat status you won't be making anything to brag home about.Probably around $500.00 a week after greedy uncle Sam takes his cut.But there are better companies then England. What made you wanna get your CDL thru them?

I worked at CRE for 4.5 years and most of them as a phase 1 trainer. What I would tell my students to do if they wanted to quit was wait until you get your hard copy CDL in the mail then once you are either done with phase 1 training or not dispatched on a load quit.

I have had students who were close to home and they decided to quit. Some would have someone pick them up at the truck stop we were at and no hard feelings. The training department would get upset with me for not giving them a heads up until after the student departed my truck.

Also if you are dispatched on a load and quit CRE may hit your DAC with a load abandonment which will make finding another job extremely more difficult.

As Dinomite would say "suck it up buttercup". Lol jk

Stick it out. It sucks but you got your CDL paid for by CR England. Pay them back and move on.

Best advice I can give you is stick around this website. It's your best resource to have a successful career in trucking.
