heres a silly ticket I got on a roadside inspection: fire extinguisher not mounted. reason cop said is it can be a projectile in an accident. I mean dam, I looked in cab and I have a heavy aluminum clipboard and my lunch cooler that could smack you on the head just as hard as that dam fire extinguiser can. In an accident, last thing im concerned about is getting hit by flying objects inside the cab. smh.

Not really argue, just inquired why it would be closed to trucks.

Did you tell em it was a mistake? Did he suggest going to court? I don't see why you can't fight it

I told him I didn't see the sign until I was on the road. He saw me turning in fron the highway and followed me in. I did't see a reason to turn around, as it is a completely safe road for trucks to drive down, plus he was already back there and I didn't want to make an ordeal of trying to turn around. He suggested when I see a no trucks sign, I heed it's warning and find another way.

I agree with lot of what you said but the bottom line is we live in trucker hater America. You can either deal with it like I do and the rest of the forum or find a different line of work. All these laws and yet more are in the works is all about revenue.Only time safety is an issue is sun up to sun down and when the weigh stations are open,a clear warm sunny day.Safety stops in the winter because the dot is afraid to get cold and dirty, poor things,no safety when its raining either. But FMCSA does'nt see anything wrong with that.

Maybe you you could just learn to play by the rules like a grown up.
Right now you sound like a spoiled child crying because he was told that he couldn't do what he wanted to do.

I could be mistaken but that is the impression that I am getting from your little tantrum .

A fire extinguisher flopping around the cab could go off and cause an accident .
Why anyone that knows that they are going to go through all the enforcement area and do nothing to prevent problems because they don't agree with it just boggles my mind .

Cops don't make the laws or rules you have to drive by. Laws are enacted by the State Legislature. Just like you, cops have a job to do. Some of them take their jobs way to seriously and others don't see a thing with doing nothing and collecting a pay check.

Take some of the blame yourself, place some of it on the cop, and some on the legislature. Now figure out which of those three you can influence the most.

What did you expect to get out of making this post?

it's amazing, I've driven over 600000 miles in the last 4+ years and am yet to get even one ticket, let alone a stack. I wonder why they aren't picking on me. Just wondering.
