I really don't think any of these new modern trucks are gonna beat you up. They all ride MUCH better than 30 years ago. Even 40 years ago with solid cab mounts and no air ride seat i know old boys that drove , and they are in good shape yet. Think you will be ok.

He needs to take a ride in an old FL cabover w spring ride suspension.

Then he won't care if he's sitting on a milk crate in a Volvo or a Pete.

    Youngsters.

First time I've ever heard of WBV.
Been getting it pretty constantly for over 4 million miles.

Sure, Volvo has the airbags on the steers, that's their thing. But if you are worried about a shaky ride, then look to the seats, sir. A Volvo with a bad seat will be worse than a Pete with a good seat.

Best thing for you to do is at LEAST go for the test drive in a Pete. It's a better built truck.

seems to me you'd be thinking with your little brain over your big brain. how busy will the new company keep you? will you get home more often? is it more pay or same pay or even a bit less pay? does the new company micro-manage? what about benefits?...etc...etc...etc.

    to switch jobs over trucks?

    foolheartedly decision.

I drove a 2 month old Mack for 5 months before I bought my 2012 Volvo.

Every single day I left the Mack, my head hurt from the vibration. Did I mention it was s brand new Mack?

The 6 year old, million mile volvo was 200 times smoother.

    Go for comfort.

I've wondered about those Pete's. Never driven one. Interested in a test drive with a loaded trailer. Very interested.
I drive a five year old Volvo. It definitely does keep the fatigue down. Not just the ride. I can adjust that wheel and seat so that my hands naturally rest on the wheel at 10 and 2. No better place to put them. Also there is no vibration at all in the steering wheel. I remember some talking about that on some trucks. I've experienced it. I forget which truck. By the end of my 11, my hands were pretty numb from vibration. The volvo has much thought put into it. Everything is easily reachable. That auto transmission works beautifully. Beautifully up and down hills, with the engine brake and all. It is truly exceptional.
My company has notified me they have a new truck coming for me. It isn't a Volvo. I'm not a happy camper. Not unhappy. But not happy for sure. I do love my Volvo.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

volvo owns mack. They share the same engine and m-drive/I shift but I'm not sure about frame and suspension. Maybe @Pedigreed Bulldog knows

That's not a specific issue for a particular brand. If your wheel is constantly vibrating something isn't kosher
