Just be careful that you don't polish too hard, or you'll make the body panels warp and rattle and end up with what I've got-
-
And if you use the wrong kind of polish, this may show up on your door.
-
Now that....Was just cruel! -
What's the best way to peel that acrylic off? Screwdriver?
-
Just tell a Werner driver they can back up next to you.

I wouldn't do it with the emblem on the truck though. -
here's how: first wash the truck as usual first thing in the morning. Parking the rear of the truck towards the sun will help to warm up the double sided adhesive strip holding the badge to the tailgate. The warmer or hotter the better, this will make removal much easier. A hair dryer or some other type of heat gun may help, just be careful not to damage the paint. Remember automotive adhesives are beyond any type available at the stores, so just having the area warm to the touch should be enough to complete the job.
With three or four wraps of fishing line on one strip of wood, pull off another two feet or so and give the other piece of wood three or four wraps. There should now be two sticks with about 20 inches between them, and fishing line connecting them. Now, catch the fishing line under the emblem to be removed, and pull the line tight. Using a smooth pulling motion with each arm back and forth, the line will start to saw its way through the adhesive strip. If either backhand goes slack the line will be difficult to pull. Try and keep the line taut as much as possible at all times.
After a few minutes, the emblem will be on the floor and there will be some adhesive left on the tailgate. This is when the adhesive remover will come in. By testing an inconspicuous area for compatibility with the vehicles paint first, we can now apply the remover to what is left of the tape strip. Some material will come off right away, some will require more effort. By starting at any edge and working towards the middle, use a finger to "roll" the glue into a ball at the middle. Continue until all of the adhesive is removed.
You will now spot a slight mark where the tape strip used to be. This will be removed by the cleaner wax and some elbow grease. After removing what was visible from the mark, wax the entire tailgate. After about two hours you have successfully removed the tailgate emblem from your truck. You can now go all the way around and remove all of the other components of aerodynamic drag as well.
anyway i just search for that. if you want try on this: howto.helium.comLast edited: May 5, 2011
