So without the specs on those 2 trucks the prices are meaningless. But hoods have always been more desirable and commanded a premium. They command the same or probably a much better premium on the used market.

Won't find any 589 with normal size sleeper less than $220k.
Lots of 579s with big sleepers listed under $180k.

So $40k+ for a hood

All 3 bedroom homes are not the same. 1500 square foot or 3500 square foot they both serve the same purpose. The 3500 square foot is more expensive same as that extra 8 inches of hood. You wanna talk bank accounts then let me ask you what good does money do you that you’re afraid to spend?

40 acres a shop a nice little brick home, bought on a VA plan. Paid for with a long hood Pete by the grace of Caterpillar……..

I spec’d one out with 510 Paccar, 12 speed, 2.79 rears and 58” flattop. It was $216k. A truck identical to the 579 I have now is $223k. But go ahead and cherry pick off the Truckpaper.

LOL! You can ask for a million dollars for a truck if you wanted to, that doesn't mean you'll get it.

That was an stupid priced crappcar engine 455hp.

    Here's Cummins 500hp and in the $170s.

    These have 80 inch SleeperS.

The 589 you posted has a flattop shoebox sleeper

Posting a stupid priced truck way above similar ones are posted for is like me taking a screenshot of a $1 per mile load on the load board and saying look guys look how cheap loads are now.

Traded my 2022 389 for my 2024 389 late last year for $160k with 225k miles on it. Originally purchased in 2021 for $190k. Find me a 579 that will do that.

Sons Hero and Kenworth6969 Thank this.
