Ok just started driving a 2015 peterbilt 579. My sxm radio won't get a signal even the preview channel cuts in and out. Where is the antenna?! Looked all over outside the truck not on mirror, sleeper, visor no where? Only antenna on the truck are the cb antennas.

It has and antenna connection for the XM radio? The 680 I had for a while actually had a connection, couldn't find the antenna, but it was the best dam n reception I ever had in any truck with any antenna. That's the only thing I miss about that truck. And the privacy curtain and that's it. And the nice ride.

It has no external antenna. It has a pre installed concert class sxm radio. It has a hook up for antenna and is hooked up to something but no idea where antenna would be? The preview channel comes in but not really it cuts in and out.

In my KW T680, the satellite antenna is mounted in the headliner above the drivers head up towards the windshield.

My guess is your Pete, being another Paccar product, is in the same place.

I mounted a separate Sirius antenna because my reception with the factory one was just so so.

So it's in the ceiling somewhere ? And I did buy a puck style external antenna and plugged it in to radio still had the same reception. Isn't it odd that there is also no external am/fm radio antenna on the truck? I did look up near where the cb is placed didn't see anything up there either

I was told the cb antennas are also used for the am/fm reception.

I wish the xm had a screw-in antenna. The original antenna that came with the unit doesn't make a good connection anymore have to constantly re-position the antenna cable to get any reception.

I heard the FL'S had all antennas built into one. Wonder if other manufactures are doing the same thing. And the FL'S were installed inside.

The cb definitely didn't transmit worth a crap. But xm had good reception.

Were you able to hook the new antenna up to the concert class radio? If so, how?
