From answers.com, I found this:
What are the dimensions of a peterbilt 379 semi truck?
I found that on a website selling a 379. BTW I'm not a trucker.
DIMENSIONS
GVW: 48,000 LB Front: 12,000 LB Rear: 36,000 LB
W x H x L: 96" x 12' 10" x 29' 2"
Wheelbase: 265"
Cab to Axle: 83" from fairing 102" from sleeper (*Don't undestanding that..XD)
Weight: Estimated: 18,000 LB
... 18k - 20k #'s depending on setup and fuel capacity would be my guess.Road Killer Thanks this. -
To the OP,.. There are many different specs to correctly assess the curb weight of a 579.
Many factors to consider.
Wheel base
Sleeper size or day cab?
Engines,.. Paccar MX or Cummins?
Fuel tank size
Installed equipment?
Guessing its anywhere from 17k to 20k? I know that doesnt help,.. but my guess is that it would be similar to a 386.

yep, depends on the spec of the truck.
my 16 FL is heavier then the 12 FL i just got out of. Both are Cascadias.
Longer wheelbase. Headache rack. Rack for tire chains. And 50 gallons more fuel in the tanks. And lastly. loadlocks on the sleeper.Road Killer Thanks this. -
The truck will have an engineer's estimate of curb weight stamped in it. (from Pete) The only way to REALLY know is to have the deal run it over a scale; and not how much fuel is onboard. You can calculate from there. If you are serious about buying one a dealer will be happy to weigh it.
Road Killer and MJ1657 Thank this. -
Thanks for the help I knew about the stamp, but no matter how serious I get with dealers they never follow through.
