the dashboard in my 389 is pretty much garbage at this point, how hard is it to replace the dash? Is it something i could do on my own or do i need to take this to the dealership? I see used dashboards for 750$ on average, whats the price on a new one? has anyone here done this, hopefully you have some pointers. thanks

eBay has the dash pieces very cheap. The Switches unplug and disconnect fairly easy. Some of the gauges may be tight but a large pair of channel locks will loosen the nut. You got any pictures of your dash? Each panel comes out with 3 or 4 screws.

I have pulled all the panels, but not the surround that the panels mount to. I had to have the entire dash pulled on my rig when it was still under warranty. It was to pull the heater box out to replace a blend door switch. It took Peterbilt several days to pull it and put it back in. They left several wires loose when putting it back, but they are all marked and it was fairly easy to see what was not connected.

How do the panels come off? I don't see screws in mine. Can the gauges be rearranged on the newer ones with the stupid screen in the middle? It would be nice to have the axle temps together instead of opposite corners.

I know this thread is a little old but I was looking for help on this same issue.
What I ended up doing was removing the top dash cover panel since all the glue broke apart and used heavy duty velcro all along the 2 dash parts. It’s is crazy strong and flexible if under stress. This was on a 2009 peterbilt 367.
