Hi every one i have been looking to buy a used truck and i have found 2008 peterbilt 386 with a ISX 485 cummins in it that had a complete inframe done in it last april. it has 600,000 miles on the truck and in very great shape inside and out, for 52grand, they have given me the option to have the burner and erg valves deleted out for 4000 grand. can any body tell me if this would be the way to go with the delete? or should i keep the truck as is? i really don't know if by deleting this if on day down the road i have to take the truck in to pete to have work done and they wont do it cause of this or will make me reinstall it? If i leave this on the truck will i have a lot of problems down the road with the filter? any help from you guys would very helpful thanks.

Honestly, my bigger question would be why an in-frame at only 600K. You don't look to do an in-frame till around a million if it's anywhere near decently maintained. You may be looking at a horse that was rode hard put up wet and neglected then freshened up for sale. Maybe not, and you got a warranty but I got warning bells going off. Dig deeper. Can't hurt.

An "inframe" last April, 11 months ago and now has 600k, so it's possible it only had 500k when the "inflame" was done. I smell a rat. Is this "inflame"documented ?

Still way too many red flags go-up...that engine could not have been maintained well......might be a pig-in-a-poke....not worth the trouble , but IT IS your money good luck!

Emissions stuff is definitely a PITA and I don't know enough about the regs to speak intelligently about them but I've never been real keen on messing with the OEM engine and drivetrain stuff. Warranties tend to get voided and it's been my experience it rarely works out better and usually more expensive than just dealing with the OEM EPA stuff.
