I have an 08 389 with drum brakes and are wanting to convert to disc. Anyone ever done that? Is there a conversion kit any company sells? Any input is greatly appreciated.

All the mounts for the drum brakes and S cams have to be cut off and the caliper mounts welded on. Different hubs also.

I believe removing spider brackets removes all including s-cam bracket and chamber bracket. What I'd like to know is what caliper bracket can be used or if a different spider bracket is needed. And yes, a different hub.

Spider bracket has to be removed.
Spider/Caliper bracket has to be whatever system you're going to use. Meritor, Bendix, ect.

I'd go price calipers first and then you'll likely change your mind.

Did you have to get new one(s)?

That will get you to pop the end caps off once in awhile and squirt some graphite grease in them. LOL
