Hey, Just wanting to see if any of you knew anything about Pemberton Truck Lines? I'm suppose to go there next week for orientation, and just wanted to find out all I can before then. Anything you can tell me would be appreciated. It's a regional job, running 5-6 southeast states, and home on weekends. They are offering .35 mile - 2000-2500 miles a week. Anyone familiar with them?

    blessed trucker,

I was leased ot them back in the mid 90's for a time. Flatbed division out of Birmingham. Dont have any idea if they are still there, but the guys running the show then, Carl and Perry. They were Super to work for, really good guys.

I left them because of Cheap rates, they had good freight out of Birmingham. But everything else was terribly cheap. Of course if you are going to be a company driver, this will not affect you. If Carl and Perry are still there, go for it.

I just wondered if they were a good place to work. Do they get you home on weekends? Do you get the miles? Mostly drop and hook? When do you have to leave out on weekends? I would like to be in church on Sundays, and was just wondering if I would have to leave out before then. Do you have a good late model truck? How's the sleeper? The truck I'm in now is a 2001, with a tiny sleeper and alot of issues. My wife will be going with me alot, so that's a biggie for us. Thanks for your input!
    God bless!

i have been with them for about 4 months i usually average between 2000 & 2500 miles. Im usually home on a friday and home during the week. Our primary routes are I 75 GA & Florida sometime SC, AL, TN. I usually leave out sunday or monday. Only time you would probably have to leave out early is when you go to miami but besides that you usally can leave out in the afternoon on sunday. We have fairly alot of Drop & Hook about 85 percent drop and hook.We usually have late model tractors, i think the oldest truck we have is 2005. We have prostars, and 9200 international. We also have a few freightliner midroof and a couple of peterbuits. you probably going to get put into a 9200 international, All and all i can say that pemberton is a good company, better then any other i have work for before. Oh yeah the late model 9200s have the small sleeper, most likely you going to get a small sleep 9200. Because there gettin rid of all the big sleeper 9200 those are the 2005's model. That might be a probably since you take your wife with you, but you can request for a older model 9200 with a big sleeper, but im gonna tell ya the older trucks aint the best looking one. You'll be better getttin a new model smaller one.
