I reported safety issues to the company, and was blackballed — the Safety Department would never call back. When I took the truck to the shop, it wouldn't get fixed.
When reporting issues to OSHA, the company issued a "Performance Improvement Plan" even though I was continuously told that freight was slow (or wasted a lot of time on breakdown for said truck issues) as a form of retaliation.
After reporting the retaliation to OSHA, I received coercion to drive in unsafe conditions and then was terminated due to failure of the "Performance Improvement Plan" even though I had a medical reason and a request for FMLA to take care of the problem.
Amidst these issues about the safety, I was also dealing with:
• Being sent for home time 200+ miles away from home everytime, then being told to drive back on your own (because there was "low freight" in the area). They will not give another load on the way/near home nor create a trailer move for a trailer that would be dropped at their yard and another driver would end up taking. Their HR representative states they would not be paying for the extra mileage you're forced to drive.
• Getting sent to home time past your requested date, making you late to doctor appointments and/or family events.
• Ignores ADA Accommodations and gives issues with the doctor's note about the accommodation (which they'd previously accepted).
• Coercion to drive in unsafe weather conditions as well as unsafe health conditions.
• Afterhours forcing you to drive outside of your region, then daytime dispatch removes the load and forces you to drop it at a local drop lot.
• Consistently saying there's no freight available after dropping a load with 8-10 hours left on your time clock.
• Being forced to move from one truck to another instead of fixing/replacing a damaged part.

This is your second post. First it was Schneider and now PTL! What did you do? The companies just have it out for you?

I was wrongfully terminated from Paschall Truck Lines out of Murray Kentucky by a guy named James Cooper for something that I didn't do, I know that someone who works at the PTL Lodge that Paschall Truck Lines owns put beer cans in the trash can in the room that I was staying in & took pictures of the beer cans & told the company that I put the beer cans in the trash can which I didn't.
Need4Speed Thanks this.
