I posted this in the Pet Forum here. But no responses.
So I see all the dog/cat threads. But where are the birds? (No not the half a peace sign salute)
I'm wondering who all takes their parrot OTR with them. I used to have a caique
And she was my baby. My fiance will be having her Amazon again, and I'll most likely get another "baby." Just wondering what other parrot lovers have found while traveling with their bird.

We had birds in our time. Not too many. I don't know if they can handle trucking very well. We had a neighbor for years with a big macaw, one of them big shoulder feather bags. 2000 dollars worth of beak and profanity. And crackers too.
He ended up keeping that thing home. The last time he went out food shopping because the thing rode on his shoulder all over the place in life the people kept interrupting him on that pretty bird. Such a pretty bird, yes you are a pretty bird.. etc.

But yeah if I get my "kiki" again. She'll be on my shoulder for sure. Literally they are like feathered dogs, and the "clowns' of the bird families. -
x1Heavy and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this.

As soon as I came home from work in the afternoons. I'd open up her cage, change her food/water out. She'd fly down to the ground and walk over to wherever I was currently. Caiques are very comfortable walking on the ground. She'd then proceed to climb up my pants leg till she could fly up to my shoulder and hang out with me all night.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I helped a woman back into a dock a couple months ago. She had a heavy Jamaican accent, and when I climbed in her truck to bac it in, there was all kinds of voodoo stuff all over the place, and a big green Amazon sitting on the top bunk. Kind of freaked me out.
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
