Where do you park your truck and trailer when you go home if you don't have space in front of your house? Is a truck stop a safe option, and do you have any bad experiences with that?

It really depends on where you live.
If you drive around, you may see where some of the locals park.
Also, there is an app called Truck Parking Club. It's like an Air BNB for trucks. You'll have to pay, but these are secured spots and you don't have to deal with Boneheads at a truck stop.

Ask your employer.

I talked to my employer, but they can’t know where I should park my truck. There are truck stops near me, but I’m not sure how safe they are. When I was working in my home state, I used to park at the company yard, but this time I’m working for a company farther away, so I can’t do that

When you go back to the truck stop Monday morning after that weekend off and the hood is laying on the ground, whatcha gona do?

You will either need a cooperative customer nearby allowing you to park or you need to pay someone monthly or weekly to allow you to park.
It's better in every way but one to park at the trucking company yard rather than park at home. This allows maintenance to be done when you are home instead of wasting half a day, for no pay, getting maintenance at a truck stop.
I would never WANT to bring my truck home. But lots of newbies think it's great until they get the city parking ticket or the HOA warning or fine. If you live out in the country & have room it may be OK, but somehow I doubt most paycheck to paycheck newbies live in the country.dave01282000, nextgentrucker, austinmike and 2 others Thank this. -
Look for tow truck companies, RV self-storage. Don't just park behind a grocery store or mall. You can get towed or your truck is burglarized.nextgentrucker, TX2Day and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
Truck parking is generally a miserable experience, unless you get lucky. Just depends where you are. I leave mine at a truck stop, non reserved, but it’s a gamble. I could pay reserve but honestly it’s not any safer at all. I am lucky tho, I have a pilot not far away that has free bobtail parking, and I don’t bring a trailer with. Plus right across the street is a TA that lets bobtails park practically any where in the lot for days at a time. Just that location tho I wouldn’t try that most places. I always go inside and kindly ask if it’s ok before I leave, and let them know I will be back for it.

If the truckstops close to you have reserved spots and those spots are easier to back into like a lot of them are I’d just reserve a spot for a few days whenever you’re home. No way I’d just park in a free spot at a truckstop and walk away from it.
As mentioned above you can check Truck Parking Club to see where the closest location is to you. -
