Question?
Let's say you live in an unincorporated area, but it's still a residential area. And if the property were on over an acre of land. There's also a 20W x 40L x 14H double garage (like a pole barn).
The code/zoning clearly states "no parking of vehicles of 7,000+ GVW".
Has anybody had any experiences with parking MEDIUM DUTY (similar size to tow trucks), inside a similar structure, and having code enforcement try to regulate what you have INSIDE?

My brother was contracted to build a garage for a homeowner because their recently formed hoa put some kind of reg like that up. It was so they could store their motor home inside.
Thats not legal advice, but if an hoa deems that fine, not sure the fuzz would care unless they literally have NOTHING to do in your area.
7k is a ridiculous number, my f250 single tire, not dually is rated higher than that, 7 k is almost its gross weight before i put anything in the truck bed -
How can you live in a township and have worries about this? Has something changed in America? Dumb question I know. I mean pertaining to this!
GreenPete359, Cattleman84 and lester Thank this. -
Where I used to live they harassed everyone about things like lawns to overgrowth. The township went after an 80-year-old lady who has been there since 1970, they harassed her over branches she cut that she didn't get to finish cleaning up fast enough. I got fined for my lawn not being cut every two weeks, I had planted very slow growing grass, it didn't need cutting every two weeks, more like every three weeks.
The township northeast of me went through changing zoning laws and changed all the smaller than 10-acre properties in two sections from Residential-Agriculture to Iight industrial in order to force people to sell to a township-owned land trust in order to cash in on the solar farms being forced onto everyone in the region.
Townships should not be allowed to do a lot what they have been doing.Mattflat362 Thanks this. -
You'll be fine as long as you don't throw anything in the bed of your 2023 F150.

Bet that almost everyone of the township council nazi clowns have an RV that they roll around in. One of them usually owns interest in the local storage lot you are forced to keep yours at even though you have 10 acres of hidden space.

Drones have only made it worse. You cannot hide anything.
We just got our property tax warning letter stating that our house is valued more due for next year due to a new living quarter added to and under the structures roof. How did they know? We recently enclosed our 10x20 back porch into a “Florida” room. It’s on back of house and cannot be seen from anywhere unless you trespass and do survelence like ruby ridge. Or drone.Mattflat362 Thanks this. -
Yep they are using drones here too.

I am not an attorney, but I watch them on television.
You are probably ok as long as you always park the vehicle inside the building. Make sure you don't have other vehicles( of any size) parked on the property that you do not own, especially inoperable ones. Keeping the place neat and tidy will go along way to avoid conflicts with surrounding owners.
Nosy neighbor numbers one, two or three might try to make an issue of you operating a business at that address by doing so.
I would park it inside, and if anyone tries to force the operating business stuff on you, hire an attorney.
