Does anyone know of any places where you can park a truck in or near Philadelphia? Preferably the South part of town?

I don't know of any truck stops in Philly, there are few across in NJ. You might be able to find a Wal-Mart or Kmart to park in overnight.

I always bounced at and stopped at a service plaza if I was waiting on a load. I sure would not want to sleep in philly if I even found a walmart.

There's a reality show on Discovery channel called "Parking Wars" filmed in Philly and I bet they get 95% of the city's budget from parking tickets and towing fees and storage and booting cars with unpaid tickets. Can you say "Cash cow"? I would say if the neighborhood you're thinking about has abandoned, burned out hulks of vehicles and plenty of boarded up buildings with lots of graffiti and a lot of punks riding around in circles on small bicycles looking at your every move, then your truck may get broken into if left there overnight.

If you are just needing a place to take your break there is a rest area on I-95 just inside PA from DE. There is also several truck stops on 295 in NJ. The TA at exit 18 is just a few miles from 322 or I-76. From there you are maybe 20 minutes from downtown Philly.

yes, being that i am from philly, you prob would not want park in philly... no all that safe, if your near plymouth meeting u have plenty of shopping centers you could pull in...away from any stores to rest. i dont think the police will bother you, and they have very tiny crime rate... finding a rest area to park near philly is just about out of the question, unless your coming down 476, only 2 rest areas going towrds philly, and they recently redid both with plenty of truck parking...

just play it safe and dont park in Philly, as allow me said about the parking wars show... its sooo true!!!!! mooooo

There is a Sunoco rest area on I-276 about 10 miles in from the NJ border. I go by there all the time and there is usually spots available even on weekends.

It was just for a few hours so I could go to the Eagles stadium, get some souvineers and xmas gifts, and get a Philly Cheesesteak at Pat's!

I parked at the Walmart in the very SE corner of the city. It was a cesspool! Garbage everywhere! Bums & freaks. I wasn't too worried though, because it was midday, and there were several other trucks there. The good thing was, the bus comes right to the Walmart parking lot. It was just a short bus/subway ride to the stadium.

I definately do not reccomend it for overnight!

Near the stadiums a few tractors I see just outside the fence of the place I drive for. The end of Lawrence Street , 95 runs past, several drivers I see there all the time they just flip around and back to the weeds. Cops come down all the time and just turn around never seen anybody get bothered. One Hill Bros. truck parked there days at a time.

There is a fenced Truck stop on I-95 in Bensalem (just North of Philly) Exit 37 I think. It's a pay lot, but it's safe. And they have a cantina that serves a pretty good cheesesteak!
