    Parallel Parking a combo rig????
The skills test IIRC had you follow a course where you had to make both a left and right turn without knocking over the delineators. Next you stopped at a simulated intersection without knocking over the delineator. Back-up in a straight line for 200'... Then the "alley dock"...2 free "Pull-ups"....
Never had to parrellel park as part of the skills test. I do however park my flat at some rest stops where it's parallel park or go down the road....and the next place to stop is a 100 miles away....trust me...you'll get good a parallel parking after that...

If it is a blind side parallel, then it is probably the maneuver that I was talking about in this post.

Hello, not sure how it is there, but here you must do a straightline back, offset back, and the computer picks either a sight side or blind side parallel or an alley dock for you 3rd required, and you will likely not get the same one twice,,,,usually.

Yes it is a blind side parallel parking like Darkschneidr described in above link.I spent 3 hours practicing today on this one manuever I got it right the first few times but then I lost it ,so I kept on it till it clicked. I'm no pro yet so this weekend I will keep working on it so I'll be more confident on my test date. Thanks

set up a box like the dmv( trailer plus 10 ft) put the back corner of the trailer at the last cone, hard left turn in reverse till you can see the corner of the landing gear shoe( the very tip) then hard right turn, stay with it till you can see the cone in your right mirrior by the front driver on the right side, the school I am going thru has a piece of tape on the bar between the landing gear legs, when we back around to the right, we look for the tape, crank it hard the other way and in the box it goes

Once you have your method down, practice your corrections. I don't quite recall the method I learned in school but if you didn't do it perfectly, you'd be off and some folks would be completely lost as to what to do next and end up failing the test because they never practiced their corrections.

Let's see i took my CDL at the san bernardino DMV. Parrallel park was for sure part of it. I pulled up about 18inches past the last cone on the right. Also 18inches or so away from it. Hard left until my first set of DOT stickers dissappeard from the mirror..then hard right..Got it first shot. Good luck

Dam parallel park not here in Idaho. When i took my driving test almost a year ago it went like this. Back the truck up in a straight line for 150 feet make left and right turns where youre trailer tires cant be more than 18 inches away from the cone, and back it into a dock.

You took it at the one off Waterman?
When did they include parallel parking in the test?
Btw...I had to take it with a half set of a belly dump.....not the easiest thing to alley dock....It's like backing a short tongued trailer....:biggrin_2551:
