If you are near twothousand pounds I recommend the electric jack if one is convenient. Be careful using that thing though, they can really haul a^*

Depends on the condition of the jack, in good condition they roll fine with 2000 lbs
"semi" retired Thanks this. -
Also I'm 6' and weigh 270. I've always been strong as a bull. I can move 2000 lbs with a hand jack when others can't. It all depends. How much are you moving? One pallet to a drop or a whole truck load a couple of times a day?
That being said if you can handle the charging and the weight of the electric they make life easier. -
How often are you going to be using it? If it's all day every day, you may want to go electric. If it's just a few times a day, or less, a manual should be fine.

Prices are high on electric pallet jacks. I have a crown electric pallet jack. Good used condition they run about $2200 and new they are over 4K !!

I used to muscle around 2500 pounds of seed per pallet with a manual unit. Not that big of a deal and it's good for a workout.
Hi PJ, that's true. Sometimes, I'd grab a pallet jack, and the wheels were so chock full of string and shrink wrap, they hardly turned.
or if they have nails imbedded in the wheels, that can be a real pita!!"semi" retired Thanks this. -
Also consider the floor surface. If you're unloading a reefer you have a grooved trailer floor then you have to get it over the dock plate. Not the easiest thing with a manual jack.
