My Medical certificate expired 12/24/21 and I just didn’t know it due to having Covid two times and being out of town 4 days a week. I am getting my physical tomorrow and will get it into a Pendot location Tuesday. My license info says my class B is Valid but my MEC is not certified. Downgrade has nothing listed after it. Am I still in good shape in PA?
Anyone know if I am downgraded how one gets back a CDL in Pa. No one seems to know.
Also know there has been extensions in PA, just not sure what ours is.
    Ty.

I would just get the med card updated and submit to DMV. I wouldn’t raise attention to it and hope they just update it. Don’t ask questions or volunteer information. Let them catch it on their own. But I don’t have experience renewing a med card.

I think if downgraded you have to go through the process again but now with the new EDLT regulations.

My state has a website to check the status of CDL. I would do that, but I would not talk to anyone at the state office and give them your details in case they haven't downgraded your CDL. I believe if you "fix" your CDL within a year it just becomes valid again. That is something that could vary by state. Just submit your new medical card and self-certification and see what happens.

ELDT is only required for someone who has never held a CDL.

I have nothing to add that has not already been said. I do, however, want to express some frustration I have with this situation. While I am retired, from the 1980s until 2012 I kept a medical card. As a Trucker, there were always two days in the back of my mind. The expiration dates of my CDL and my medical. Most carrier's safety depts will send you a short twx about a coming expiration date. I know that Covid screwed things up badly, still, I know for a fact here in my home drivers were getting physicals in 2020 through to today. I am truly sorry this has happened and am hoping you can get this downgrade fixed. Still, this could have been avoided had you placed enough emphasis on doing it.
