Hello.
I was wondering if it was possible for someone from Europe/Scandinavia to become an owner operator in
U.S.
Visa is maximum 6months i think unless u make an investment and buy a truck from U.S. for example.
But i was thinking what if i take my own truck. Is it even allowed. I am afraid there would be way too many complications to get it registred and whatnot.
Pretty sure i wouldnt be able to drive with European licence plates.(Or could i if it was between Canada and US)
Things get complicated. Have been thinking about this for a while now. Would be awsome to work there for a year or two.
Does anyone maybe know someone who has done it before or something?

you might want to see if you can get in touch with this guy.
scania in the usa -
He was just visiting US as a holiday trip with his family.
I on the other hand would be interested in the work.
And that old thing takes way too much fuel and Co emissions on that thing -
Leave you truck.. We have lots of white volvos for sale..(a little joke).
People used to bring gray market cars and get them registered . But I've never seen or heard of someone doing it with a truck....
If this is true I might want to change places with you......
Brettj3876 and QuietStorm Thank this. -
Maybe he knows some people to get in touch with.
Had to talk to some one to get that truck here and drive it. -
Hehe. That is just Denmark dream. Also 33 hour work week does not apply on trucking. Here allover the Europe It is 90 hours per 2 weeks driving time. U can do maximum 3 days 9 hours driving and 2 days 10 hours driving. But 2 weeks cant go past 90 hours.
And everyone is pushing the limit.
Not sure about swapping thoI work in Sweden/Norway. Icy mountains.
