Thats DOLLARS per mile. lol
-
Company driver pulling a 19 axle? About 1.20+ per mile plus hourly wage. O/O pulling a company trailer, depending on load and distance, anywhere between $15000- $60000+ $1000 a day detention pay. O/O with his own authority, pulling a superload? Net* $80000 and up, depending on the load.
* superload thats overheight and weighs about a quarter million lbs or more would require the route to be surveyed, pole car, 2 escorts (in some states, state troopers whose going rate is in the $500 an hour range), permits for each state travelled...etc. So the O/O would be out of $30000 or more. The Challenger Thanks this. -
He was empty. Well sort of. Load that baby up good and high, wide and heavy and it would get real expensive in a hurry.

For the owner operator, he would have to pay big bucks just to deadhead since the escort and the permits would still be required for such a massive rig...the only saving grace is deadheading wouldnt require a state patrol escort.
The dangerous thing about having to run a state patrol escort is when Smokey rolls up behind a 4wheeler, the 4wheeler will hit the shoulder to let him pass...
...and pull off the shoulder right in front of a quarter of a million pounds of truck thats usually extremely wide too. Sudden Death!
It would be nicer if Smokey could run backdoor, but the bonehead law may require 1 at the front door and one in back. If they run in back, the only danger you encounter is dying from laughter at all the 4wheelers who look at you puzzled because they cant figure out why you wont pull over. LOL! -
Thats a BIG truck...

That trailer is a "Diamond" from Shandon Ohio. They make trailers and also haul superloads. They have trailers with pusher engines on the rear so another tractor isn't needed. They just made a new one with 2 550 Cats side by side. Top notch equipment.
Here's a picture of their fleet.
Their new 38 axle trailer with 1100hp on the rear.

That is amazing

Thanks for the pics jfaulk99..... that IS TRUCKING....

There's video's on the left of this page.
I guess the owner said there wasn't any commercially available trailers to do what he wanted so he started building his own.
I talked to a driver he said he control's the trailers engines from the truck, they push through auto transmissions. Top notch.
