I do not know the driver but it looks. Rey much like a double schnabel tower truck from lone star - and based on Where it happened - likely came out of either Brownsville where I am loading or maybe Port Aransas.

no idea what happened in this case. It does bring home how fast this job can go very bad.

That’s an incredible amount of torque when a schnauble rolls. When the regen setups first came out, had a friend get a brand new truck, and had to regen after jaking out of the mountains. He pulled on the shoulder and the shoulder gave way. The tractor got lifted up and power slammed. The blades aren’t nowhere’s near as heavy but the sheer size is more than enough to slam a tractor.

Speaking of the tubes, since the blades are now 100 ft longer than they were, did they increase the size of the tower tubes?

Funny you mention tubes... i am looking at a half schnabel set up for next year

The towers seem like mostly 5 piece setups now

    Top
    Upper mid
    Lower mid
    Upper base
    Lower base

Over 350ft tall? That lower base has to be over 20-25ft in diameter? The old ones were what...17ft in diameter and 230k on 13 axles?

no the upper base was under 15 wide but I am not sure what the bug lowers are - I know that max out a 13 axle so close to 260k gross

well when the blades are 240+ ft long the tower has to be stupid tall

I am glad things are working out so well for you and your crew. I like the half schnaubles too. Lot LESS complicated.

You and Zoe going home Thanksgiving?
