Anyone have any first hand knowledge of what it's like to drive for them out of one of the DC's?

I can pass along what I know; I applied there about a year ago (didn't get job). $16/ hr I believe it was. The DC drivers would be shuttling a trailer to the position I applied for and we would do a trl swap. He would return to DC; I would then run a route delivering parts to the local OReilly stores. Night hours; 5 days a week, home every day.

    Out of line Thanks this.

$16 an hour?!?!?!? That's pretty sad wages. They probably did you a favor not hiring you

I spoke to the HR about the job. Starting pay is $18 an hour and top pay is $22 an hour. Takes 3 years to get to top pay. No overtime pay and family health insurance is $525 a month. It's a pass for me. Not a good job in my book

Ugh, no overtime AND a 3 year progression? Sounds like they need more organizing drives!

I've been with O'Reilly for 9 years, 1 of that as a driver. Starting pay at my DC is 19.50 and tops out over 23. Performance evaluations every 6 months with an increase of up to 90 cents. Pay and increases vary depending on what DC you're at. We are guaranteed 50 hours per week, but often go home with more. The union is not at my DC, but has made it to other DCs as mentioned above. Benefits are OK, not great. New drivers should expect to be swing until they work up to a route to bid on. Swing drivers cover the route drivers who call off or are on a paid day off. Routes pay different depending on mileage and how many stores are delivered to.

Decided to resurrect this thread as well. Apart from some of the other place I applied to and might get on with, I've been putting in apps with O'Reilly's for about 2-3 years now. Almost got on with them a little over a year ago for a route driver position out of the Lubbock DC, but chickened out on a TX move. With the way one of the daytime dispatchers is purposely jerking our pay around where I'm at right now, I'm pretty much striking out towards anything again. Here in Clovis, I regularly see O'Reilly's trucks going east and west along the 60 at all hours of the day, every day of the week. Apart from what I've read about pay/benefits on this thread, that frequency in running should mean a good choice of scheduling. Like I've mentioned in my posts before, I prefer working weekends and taking my days off in the middle of the week. Seems quite possible with these guys. I'm calling them back Monday to see about getting the ball rolling.
That and Lubbock too has kind of grown on me after passing through there various times.
