I use a soft yeti cooler(flip 12)it lasts me a day with ice in the Florida heat in a truck used for deliverys that isn't constantly cooled/ac'd. I will say that if I use my ice packs "artic ice with a small scoop of ice I can get two days in the Florida heat.
It's honestly not worth it, but it's a nice cooler I can neglect and beat around. I believe I could get more ice retention if I pre chilled the cooler. I think ice packs worked better than ice at least mine do.
I just keep it in my car or garage over night then throw it in the tractor so the cooler sometimes 100+ degrees when i put ice in it in the morning
I here great things about those rotomoldes coolers. Walmart have knock offs that are suppose to be almost as good, and Coleman has some cheapo coolers as well that advertise long ice retention.Last edited: Aug 6, 2017

I just want a 20 qt seems the walmart brands have bad reviews , want something that makes it 6 days . Anyone have anything that makes it 5-6 days in truck ?
-
I think your gonna be hard pressed to find an actually cooler that does 5-6 in the real world.

^^^^^
Agreed.....
6 days is a perfect scenario, out of direct sunlight, and never opening the cooler. -
Well they claim 7-10 but wanted actual users especially truckers reviews cause that's where it will be in truck
-
For less than that, way less , I have a Coleman that hooks up to a cigarette lighter adapter , and doesn't need ice
-
Yeah I have apu and will hurt my sleeping time it cuts off as is after 7-8 hours so was going to get a ice cooler
-
Mine has never caused my APU to cut off , but I probabky have a different apu and set up , so I totally understand where you are coming from
