Hi, I just wanted to get your guys opinion on Paccar trucks. Are they reliable trucks? I'm looking at some with Cummins and automatic transmission in them. Please post your reviews if you have experience with them. Thanks

Too vague of question. Be more specific.

In my earlier years Petes and KW's were top of the line equipment. This was prior PACCAR engines. And I am just not tuned in to them. But consider this, you take any truck and strip it down to nothing, you you only have the cab which is manufactured by Peterbilt or Kenworth etc. The engine made by Cummins or Detroit, the tranny by someone the wheels by somebody, the frame by somebody, the seats by somebody, the lights by somebody, the glass by somebody, etc etc etc.

Next Gen 680 is a good amount more efficient through the air then it’s predecessor. Overall it’s a great truck. I’ve had some problems with the plastic crap wanting to fall off but not horrible.

I have two of the next Gen with Cummins and two with the Paccar, both auto 12 speed. No problems with either and are very similar on mpg, I prefer the Cummins though. Unfortunately I just couldn’t get Cummins in the last two due to availability.

Yes, and I was running 230 inch wb but now running 232 to make room for the APU from TK.

Tripac evolution works well with the artic fox fuel tank heaters. Keeps batteries up, coolant warm, and fuel ungelled. Drivers like the warm/cool comfort combined with the integrated converter for power to run what they need. Idle time and mpg are optimal as well, long as you have a driver who gives a #### and appreciate what your trying to do and provide.

Ssgtkevin, Concorde and Siinman Thank this.
