Ive been looking at trucks for sale or auction I guess on Truckpaper.com. The bids start at $100 and I'm sure most of them get bid on and the price goes up. Is this right for real? If anyone has any experience with this site please do share.
Online auction is it real?

There is usually a reserve price. Meaning a much higher asking price that has to be met by the first bid higher than that reserve price to qualify. Otherwise no sale.
I have not done auctions since 2009, but I say this. They are there to make money and sometimes when necessary cash out of a problem vehicle and move into a better one. You are not going to get a 18 wheeler for a hundred dollars. If that was the case we all would have one.
If you did buy one for a hundred, make sure you get a clear title and all records as much as you can. It's going to cost you a certain amount of money to run it now. Good luck!Ruthless Thanks this. -
hey just hav'in some fun. I kinda figured just as you stated, though do not know about truck auctions. been to car auctions before. a lot bigger risk with big rigs.

The site has some for sale and some for auction. In reading the details I think the auction trucks would probably be the better chance. The sale trucks all have 500,000 to over a million miles but state they're in good shape. Lol so they're trying to seek them as good running trucks. The auction trucks in the other hand you know have something wrong with them. So If you buy one cheap then sink money into it and you'll know exactly what you have. Me and a buddy did the car auction thing some 10 or so years back and if you looked close and shipped wisely a person could get some good deals. I guess it would all depend on the route I wanted to take.

If it is on the internet it is a real deal!

You can register at Ritchie Bros. Go to "Auction Results". You can review what equipment actually sold for.

I got my 2015 ANTARES 48 X 102 flatbed from AUCTION.COM 3 month ago for $17 600. The overall experience was good, all tough buying a truck i would likely inspect it before buying.

I've bid on them before. They almost all start at $100 and claim no reserve. You can rest assured though, you'll be bidding against the owner of the truck until it reaches their bottom dollar.

Best advise on auctions, look for the ones noone is bidding on. You can get some good deals sometimes that way. If you and 50,000 other people is bidding on a Pete379, you are going to pay a price for it if you want it. Oh and hold your bid til the last 15 seconds of the auction.
