might be cheaper and easier to just get a POD than paying rental & mileage fees and buying fuel for that distance

Uhaul has one way but is a ripoff. Cost me $1700 to move 600 miles. I can imagine what that trip costs.

Upack is reasonable. I would go that route.

I talked with Ryder before. They won't rent an 18 to just anyone. You have to be an established company.

POD or ABF have home moving services. The drop the trailer off and you fill it up and secure everything and they pick it up and take it where it needs to go. No "moving" company like N. American, Mayflower or whoever that makes their money storing your stuff for 2 weeks or whatever they used to do a few years back!

And of course there still is U-haul or Hertz.

Could maybe check out some RV rentals and tow the trailer behind the RV kind of like some of the race car drivers do.

whoever told you that penske doesn't do one ways was wrong. i used them to move my stepson and daughter in law from millville to phoenix.

get them to have one hell of a yard sale and then rent a 26' one way

    bigman234,

Penske defiantly does do one way, at least on straight trucks...and since their tractors are set to run interstate, the should be able to do those one way as well. They do have a fleet of trucks that are indeed purely local and round trip that you can only run in their home state, but they do have one way's.

Make sure you are dealing directly with a corporate Peske office, not and "authorized" retailer. You can even ask where the regional office is.

They do also have limited trailers too, not sure if they let those go one way or local, otherwise Xtra Lease would be where to go of the trailer.

penske will NOt do a one way for a commercial vehicle rental.. the moving deal is totally different.

You would have to provide the insurance, too. Good luck getting a one way insurance policy.
