Need to rent a trailer from west coast to east coast. 53' dry van.. has anyone ever done this? If so what company did you use. What kind of check would I expect to write out, no idea if ill be getting gyped or not.. any input/advice is appreciated..

There is a company called, one way trailers, you can google and find them, I have seen them on a load board I use ,, they will pay you to deliver there trailer and let you use it to load your on freight once. from what I have seen they pay about 400.00 per thousand miles,,,May be more i have thought about using them several times but never have , However I have noticed they have an excellent credit rating net 30 days and they are factor able

Ryder doesn't do one way. The only other name that comes to mind is Penske but you will get raped on the cost

On loadboards look for a "LDOT" or "load-out" trailers under equipment type. Sometimes they list under "power only" -

You have to register with them, or the carrier you are leased to must be a "member".. called but no answer just says so on their site

I believe onewaytrailer.com has changed their policy and do not work with any new 1 truck operations or one shot moves. I move for them from time to time, but have been set up with them since they started years ago.
One Way Trailer was part of some the old Dick Simon Trucking family starting up after Dick Simon Trucking was bankrupted and bought out.
There is plenty of load out trailers on all the boards with most posted in the "Power Only" section. I try to avoid load outs myself.
