Ok so I have a '13 Cascadia. We've had some hell with it already, but something freaky is going on. Well a lot of freaky stuff is going on with it, but the reason I'm doing this thread is to see if anyone knows why it would be blowing just a little bit of odorless smoke out of the AC vents. It's still blowing cold so we're stumped.
The other freaky things are that we are constantly having to drain the air tanks. We've had a Peterbilt and never had to drain those tanks but maybe once a week and hardly anything came out.
Also, the fan has just decided it doesn't want to shut off, like at all. So am I missing something here?? Maybe it's normal for this kind of truck we don't know because we've never had one and I've called 3 different Freightliner's and they all had something different to say. So I just want to get it from the horse's mouth. Thanks for any help.

Smoke/vapor from the vents is generally coolant and should have odor. Maybe missing te cabin filter up front blowing dust? ???
Water in tanks could be compressor or dryer/ purge not working.
Fan most likely a sender or airline, unless someone locked it....but It depends on brand. Mine didn't have a Horton.
Good luckAtruckerswife02 Thanks this. -
Look around and in the truck really, really well. If you see anything resembling the following image, you will know that you have the problem figured out!

The excessive water in the tanks is from a defective air dryer. They had a service bulletin out about it a few years ago. They had a defective batch, my 2013 did the same thing, changed the cartridge, no difference. The next winter I changed out the whole air dryer; never saw any water at all after that.
In the winter my air pump for the DEF would freeze up, worked great after that.Atruckerswife02 Thanks this. -
Replace dryer cartridge once a year

Go under hood they have a rubber drain hose on AC squeeze it I bet it's plugged with debris and a bunch of water will drain out .. I've had 2 trucks with that issue a 2009 cascadia and 2016 T680 if it's full of water that could be why fan is on steady

They just changed the harness for the DEF and one box on the one I drive, and those lights that were(Malfunction Indicator Lamp and Check Engine Lamp) are no longer on, this also fixed the derate, and pulls like it should now, getting the same mpg while doing trips in a little more timely manner. I'm much more satisfied with it .
The air filter box was cracked and replaced, probably from deer hits jostling the hood and they replaced the coolant tank on top of the radiator. Some other minor things, also the clearance lights tended to leak, one was no longer lighting, those were changed to a slightly different design, and they replaced all so they would match, and hopefully those will be better. Didn't leak when I first got it, but has leaked since the first winter.
Water in the air tanks is like the others have said, but the 2013 I drive has never had any liquid in the tanks, ever, and that can also mess up DEF by getting water in the system when it purges after shut down.Atruckerswife02 Thanks this. -

Couldn't find it but here are a few threads tracking down the same problem.
