Anybody recommend a place to take 34 near Omaha? I unload tomorrow (Monday) morning then only have a couple hours left on clock. Looking for a decent place to spend my 34 before I pick up next load
Omaha Nebraska, parking to take my reset, where?

Park it Sapp bros in council bluffs. You can walk to the casino .. But I would walk down the block to the Salty Dog.
There is a bbq bar just past there, but i haven't been in there since the new owners took over.bzinger Thanks this. -
All good advice here and yes Sapp bros in council bluffs would be my choice .
2 decent bars within walking distance on the other side of the speedco or a quick uber ride into downtown Omaha to the old market area ...bars and restaurants galore .wore out, IH Truck Guy and JonJon78 Thank this. -
Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs. Hotels next door as well...

Always make me wonder, when someone asks for places to take a 34, most of the suggestions include, "there's a bar onsite or just down the street".
Is this a requirement for a 34?
Many years ago i had a two stopper, first in Las Vegas on a Friday, and a final in Bakersfield on Saturday. Got to the Vegas stop and find out they can't take it due to an employee accident. So, i had to spend the weekend in Vegas for Monday delivery. I don't drink or gamble, so it was a boring layover. Went to a couple of movies, but spent most of the time in the motel room.
So having a "Bar" close by is not high on the list for places to spend a 34. -
But now everyone is staring at their phone and don't want to be disturbed.intrepidor, kemosabi49, wore out and 1 other person Thank this. -
Myself being a professional tourist,I like to have a ####tail or two and mingle with the locals.
To me it's a good way to get the view of current events from another part of the country.
And find out about good places to eat.
Pancho's in West Memphis and the Angle Inn in Baltimore come to mind.
And the walking around is good for the old body. Lolbzinger Thanks this.
