Doing a search here, I found a couple threads where people have asked for a vin decode. One had a reply with all kinds of detailed info, but so far, none tell how to decode the vin. I ran my vin online thru several decoders, but all I can come up with is year, model and engine.

I would really like to know more if I can either how to decode a Freightliner vin, or more info on what the truck has if possible.

My vin is 1fuy3mcbxsp628343. I know it is a 95' FLD112 with an M11 Cummins. But that's as far as I can get. Does anyone have any ideas where else to get this decoded?

    Thanks.

A Freightliner dealer can't help you? You wont find much more info than that with just the VIN. Way to many options to have special VIN digits for each one. They can get you a build sheet from the last 6 digits of the VIN.

Thanks. Ya I'll be going to the dealer today for some battery cables. I will ask them then.

I worked at a freightliner dealership, a build sheet is about 3/4 to 1/2 inch of paper, what I would do is talk to the dealer parts department. They are more than willing to answer, every question you have. They may charge you for a full printout.
    Just a thought!

They are usually OK with emailing the build sheet, I doubt they'd be to happy about printing it.

Since it's an old 112 I was gonna guess an old TRL truck but they had Cats under the hood.
