Does anyone know if Old Dominion runs a DAC report via HireRight on driver applicants?
I have a couple of small boo boo's on my DAC report that are clearing up this year from my rookie year as driver with Werner. One goes off June 2nd and the other goes off December 4th. Been accident free since the last one in Dec of 2014. Clean MVR, no moving violations, no accidents, no tickets, no failed inspections. I have my triples/doubles, Hazmat, Tanker, fresh medical DOT cert.
I'm looking for a new job making some better money and some good benefits. Not much in the way of benefits down at FedEx Ground. I like the, route, work and the people, just looking to take my trucking to the next level.

@Naptown works there, he may know. But regardless of whether they use HireRight or not, don't cover anything up and answer all questions completely and truthfully. LTL companies don't play around. They're more likely to hire an honest ex-felon than someone who tries to hide a little rookie accident from a few years ago.
jungledrums, X-Country, Big Don and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not sure if OD checks HireRight. No one mentioned it during my hiring process. I'll ask tonight and find out for certain, but you should be good with a clean MVR. Doubles experience is good too. Lots of drivers at my barn from other ltl's, mostly ConWay.
Bob's right though, they are thorough. 10 year work history, which they verify. Better to list everything, rather than have them find out on their own.Jmans and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
Not interested in pulling 53' or 48', or driving flatbed.
Pulled a copy of my PSP last night, has an accident with some antelope in Wyoming on there (doesn't specify the deer or fault, but I have dashcam video of it.) and that was non-preventable. Nothing else shows up there so that looks good.
I also requested my DAC via email, and I'm waiting for that to get to my inbox to take a look at it so I can see what I'm dealing with.
Just picked up my MVR today and made sure to get a certified copy. I'm good on that. 3 non-moving violations, no accidents, DUI's, suspsensions or revovcations. So I'm not worried about anything on there.
As I understand it, things on your DAC stay there for 7 years, but MOST companies only use things that are 3 years or newer against you to determine hiring eligibility (I've ascertained this from some of the discussions I've had with recruiters) or if you can show 1 year or more of safe driving from your last preventable they will consider you as well. There are a few select companies that go back 5 years on the DAC report, but they are far and few between. I've yet to hear of anyone that goes back the full 7 years, but I have no doubt that someone out there does.
I've got almost 2 years of experience (about 49 days shy of my 2 year mark) pulling doubles over Vail and Eisenhower on I-70 in Colorado and over Elk Mountain on I-80 in Wyoming. Plus some mixed in team runs to Beaver, Phoenix, and St. Peters, MO when they needed someone to fill in for a few days due to illness or injury.Bob Dobalina Thanks this.
